In short: Guidevi and this website collect no personal data. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking.

Developer: Mustafa Enes Demirkaya

Guidevi is a native IPTV player for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Guidevi does not host, recommend, or index any content; it is only a client that connects to sources you add yourself (an M3U playlist or an Xtream panel) and to TV guide (XMLTV/EPG) addresses you provide.

1. In short

Guidevi does not collect personal data. On Apple's App Store privacy label this is declared as "Data Not Collected." Details below.

2. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking

  • Guidevi contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracking library.
  • No usage data, device identifier, location, or behavioral data is ever sent to the developer or to any other party.
  • Guidevi has no backend server of its own. The app only connects to (a) the address of the source you added, and (b) Apple's own systems (StoreKit, CloudKit, CDN).
  • At launch and from time to time, the app reads update or announcement information published by the developer from Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) servers. No personal data is sent with this request, and no iCloud sign-in is required.

3. Connecting to your provider

When you add an M3U playlist, an Xtream panel, or a custom XMLTV/EPG address, Guidevi connects to that address directly from your device. This connection:

  • Only ever goes to URLs you added; Guidevi never recommends or hosts any source, provider, or playlist.
  • Is subject to that provider's own privacy practices for whatever it does with your request; Guidevi never sits in between as a server or proxy.

4. Your credentials (username, password, server address)

  • Your source credentials (server address, username, password, playlist URL, custom EPG URL) are kept in the app's protected (Data Protection) database on your device. On Apple TV a copy is also kept in the Keychain. With iCloud sync on (Premium), they are also stored in encrypted fields in your own iCloud.
  • With Premium, these are synced to your own private CloudKit database in iCloud — a database that belongs solely to your Apple Account; Guidevi's developer cannot access it. Guidevi stores its library fields (sources, credentials, favorites, progress, settings) in CloudKit's end-to-end encrypted fields; technical metadata such as record names is stored with Apple's standard iCloud protection.
  • On tvOS, a small snapshot (≤ 200 KB) is kept for fast setup after the Caches directory is cleared; this snapshot contains no secrets — your server address, username, password, and custom EPG URL are never written to it.
  • Credentials are never written to the app's local catalog/guide databases (catalog-*.sqlite, guide-*.sqlite).

5. iCloud sync (Premium only)

  • For Premium users, sources, favorites, watch progress, group preferences, and synced settings are written to your own private CloudKit database in iCloud via Apple's CKSyncEngine/SQLiteData stack.
  • This data only syncs between devices signed in with your Apple Account. Guidevi's developer has no access to it, and it is never shared with any third party.
  • You can turn iCloud sync off, or choose "this device only"; in that case your data stays only on that device.

6. Local network and Add from iPhone

When you connect to your own home server as a source (e.g. TVHeadend, ErsatzTV, Tunarr, Dispatcharr, or a self-hosted Xtream panel), iOS/iPadOS asks for your permission (local network access). This permission is only used to connect to the sources you added; Guidevi never scans your network or discovers other devices.

On Apple TV, only while a page that shows a QR code is open (the first-launch screen when no source has been added, Add from iPhone, or the backup or diagnostics page), Guidevi serves a temporary web page on your local network (Wi-Fi/Ethernet). You reach it from your phone with the QR code shown on screen or a one-time code; the code and session are short-lived, and wrong attempts are limited. What you enter on the phone (source address, credentials, backup file) goes directly to the Apple TV on the same network; it is not sent to the developer or any third party. If you download the backup on the Apple TV (with passwords, if you choose) or the diagnostics report to your phone, they travel over the same local connection. This connection runs inside your local network over unencrypted HTTP and does not leave it. The server stops when you close the screen or leave the app, and also after a period with no requests (at most 15 minutes).

7. Diagnostics log

So that problems can be understood, Guidevi keeps a size-limited diagnostics log that rotates on your device (at most 3 files of about 512 KB each). Username, password, playlist address, and the ID/token parts of addresses are masked as they are written to the log; the server name and port stay visible so a problem can be located. The log leaves your device only if you yourself share it from the app (Settings or the player's info panel) or download it to your phone on Apple TV; it is never sent automatically, and no analytics are involved.

If the app quits unexpectedly (crashes), Guidevi keeps only a technical crash record on your device: which code was running, the app and iOS/tvOS version, and the hardware model of the device; it also includes the numeric values in the crashed thread's processor registers, which can rarely carry short pieces of text. The record contains no content from your sources; username, password and the ID/token parts of addresses, as well as file paths and identifiers, are masked, while the server name and port may stay visible. At most 3 records are kept and they stay on your device. A record goes into the diagnostics report only if you share that report; it is never sent automatically, and no analytics are involved.

8. Children's privacy

Guidevi is not directed at any specific age group and does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+; parental controls (hiding adult content groups behind a PIN) are an optional, local setting, and no data ever leaves the device because of them.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the current version is published here and in the app; the date above is updated for material changes.

10. This website

This website (guidevi.com) uses no cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking scripts, or third-party resources (external fonts, CDNs, embedded content), and collects nothing about you. The pages are static files hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure; as an infrastructure provider, Cloudflare may keep technical connection records, as any web server does. The support email address (support@guidevi.com) is forwarded to the developer's mailbox by a routing service; messages you send us, and any attachments (such as a diagnostics report), are used only to answer your request.
